Students take winning approach to petrels and albatross

Two Centre for Sustainability postgraduate students won awards at the Fifth International Albatross and Petrel Conference in Wellington earlier this month.

Grant Humphries won first prize for Students? Oral Presentation, and Rachel Buxton placed first in the Poster Presentation.

The four-yearly international conference covered all aspects of albatross and petrel biology, ecology, distributions and tracking, taxonomy and human interactions.

Both Grant and Rachel are studying seabirds for their PhDs.
